Recording The Filming & Editing Experience charlotte

Decisions

We Have Made Many Decisions during the post production stage of the film making process.

As a team we have decided upon using many different sound effects from the program 'Garageband'. We have also become 'foley artists' and recorded our own sounds such as a fridge opening and closing the door as well as recording the sound of unlocking a door.
We have agreed on the sound of the piece - we used 'garageband' and 'final cut pro' to adjust the volume levels of the clips.

Progress

We are currently in the process of deciding upon a title for our sequence...and also deciding on where to put the titles in the sequence.
30th March 2010 - We have completed the final product and have only got our personal evaluations left. We decided on a menu on the program 'idvd'

Technology Used:

(During The Process Of Production and Editing)
  • A DV Camera, Tripod, Artificial Lighting (Red-Head)

The programs we used whilst editing are -

Interesting Techniques we have discovered how to use

Whilst in the editing process we have discovered some technological techniques such as using short cuts when using such programs as 'final cut pro' and 'garageband'. This made the editing stage a lot easier and took less time to do simple tasks such as selecting and cutting a piece of footage or sound.

The Filming Experience

The filming experience was overall...good. Although we had MAJOR problems with faulty equipment such as both of the batteries provided were not charged. Luckily we found a charger at the location which we used. Unfortunately this meant that we had to constantly keep the camera plugged in, this was hard when we were filming on an outside location. The camera also had an issue with the white-balance, it showed the frame as blue.

The tripod was also faulty as it was wonky, this meant some of the footage was not straight and we had to do some of the scenes again. The gloves were also both left-handed which left us with the problem of moving the artificial lighting when it was still hot.

Although we had many problems during the filming stage we had a good time and got everything done in a day.
